Resi V2: How to Connect a Resi Content Block to the Website Builder
How to take a content block you've created in Resi and map it to a visible section on your property website using the Website Builder.
Before You Start
Applies to: Resi V2 only. Prerequisite: You must have already created the content block in Resi. See How to Create a New Content Block (V2) →
Important: Never change the Website Connection Key field inside a content block. This key maps the block to the website — editing it will break the connection entirely.
Step 1 — Refresh the Website's Content Data
Before the Builder can see your new block, the website needs to pull the latest data from Resi.
- From the property in Resi, click Log into WordPress in Quick Links.
- In WordPress Admin, go to Resi Settings.
- Click Refresh Property Data.
- Wait approximately 60 seconds for the queue to process.
💡 Power users: you can monitor progress under Tools → Scheduled Actions. When pending items clear, the data is refreshed.
Step 2 — Open the Builder and Navigate to the Page
- In WordPress > Builder, go to Pages.
- Find the page you want to add the section to and click Edit.
- Click Launch Builder (or the Builder edit button).
- In the Builder, find the right location on the page.
💡 Hover over section names in the left panel to see them highlighted in the right preview. Or hover over any section in the live preview to reveal the pencil/edit icon — clicking this jumps you directly to that section in the Builder.
Step 3 — Create a New Section
- Click + Add Section at the point on the page where your new content should appear.
- Give the section an internal label matching your naming convention (e.g., home/specials).
- Click + in the center of the section to add an element.
- Choose Panel — the most commonly used element type, supporting an image, title, meta text, and body content.
Step 4 — Connect the Resi Content Block
- Click into the element you just added.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to Resi Content Blocks.
- Click the Resi Content Blocks toggle to enable it.
- A Content Block dropdown will appear — select your newly created block from the list.
- Switch back to the Content tab.
- You'll see the available fields now map directly to your Resi content block. Select which fields to display (Title, Text, Image, CTA, etc.) by toggling or linking each one.
Step 5 — Style and Publish
- Adjust alignment, color, padding, and style from the element and section options.
- Use the responsive preview icons at the bottom of the Builder (Desktop → Tablet → Mobile) to check how it looks across devices.
- Click Save in the Builder.
- Back in Resi, click Clear Website Cache on the property.
- Wait 60–90 seconds, then hard-refresh the live site to confirm the new section is displaying correctly.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping the Refresh Property Data step — your new block won't appear in the Builder dropdown until the site has pulled the latest data from Resi.
- Changing the Website Connection Key inside a content block in Resi — this will break the mapping entirely. This field should never be edited.
- Not checking responsiveness before publishing — use the mobile/tablet preview in the Builder before clearing the cache.
- Adding a section without connecting a Resi block — the section will appear empty on the live site. Always link a content block in the Advanced tab.
