Resi V2: How to Create a New Page in the Website Builder
How to create a new page on a property website — from a blank canvas to a fully published, SEO-ready page.
Before You Start
Before you build: Have your content blocks created in Resi and your page content planned before opening the Builder. It's much faster to build a page when you know what sections you need.
Step-by-Step: Create and Build the Page
- In WordPress, go to Pages → Add New.
- Give the page a title (this is the internal WordPress title — it can be refined later).
- Click Save Draft — the page is now in Draft mode and is not live on the website.
- Click Edit in Builder (or the YOOtheme launch button) to open the Builder.
- You'll have a blank canvas. There are three ways to start:
Option A — Start from a Pro Library layout (fastest for new sections)
- Click Library in the Builder toolbar.
- Browse Pro Layouts for a pre-built design you can adapt.
- Click your chosen layout → Insert at Bottom (not "Replace" — that overwrites the whole page).
- Option B — Import a saved layout from another property
- Click Library → My Layouts.
- Select a layout you've previously saved → Insert.
- Option C — Build from scratch
- Click + Add Section and build section by section.
- Best used when you know exactly what you need and have a design in mind.
- Replace placeholder content by connecting Resi Content Blocks to each element (see How to Connect a Content Block to the Website Builder →).
- Check responsiveness using the Desktop / Tablet / Mobile preview icons at the bottom of the Builder.
- Click Save in the Builder.
Step-by-Step: Add SEO Metadata and Publish
⚠️ Every new page must have a meta title and meta description before being published. This is a hard requirement for SEO performance.
- In WordPress, go back to Pages and find your new page.
- Click Quick Edit.
- Fill in:
- Meta Title — 50–60 characters. Include the property name and primary keyword
- Meta Description — 140–160 characters. A concise, compelling description of the page.
- 💡 Use the built-in SEO plugin indicator — it'll flag if your title or description is too short or too long.
- Change the Status from Draft to Scheduled.
📝 Note: Despite the label, selecting "Scheduled" and clicking Update publishes the page immediately. This is the correct method to make a page live. - Click Update.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Publishing without meta title and description — this hurts your property's search engine visibility. Always fill these in before going live.
- Selecting "Replace" when inserting a layout — this overwrites your entire current page layout. Always use "Insert at Bottom" and then drag sections into position.
- Building without Resi content blocks connected — placeholder text won't auto-populate from Resi. Connect your content blocks before publishing.
- Forgetting to check mobile responsiveness — pro library layouts are responsive by default, but custom additions may need adjustment.
Troubleshooting
|
Problem |
Solution |
|
Page is live but meta description isn't showing in Google |
Google takes time to index new pages. If meta fields are filled in, it will appear — usually within days to weeks. |
|
Page layout looks broken on mobile |
Open the Builder, switch to mobile preview, and adjust padding, font sizes, and column layouts for small screens. |
|
I can't find the page I created |
Check Pages → All Pages in WordPress. Filter by Draft or Published to narrow it down. |
|
I accidentally replaced the whole page layout |
