Resi V2: How to Add a New Neighborhood Place

How to add individual points of interest to your neighborhood map and edit existing places.

Before You Start

Applies to: Resi V2 only. On V1? See the V1 version →

How the Neighborhood Map Works

Your property websites feature a neighborhood map showing nearby points of interest — coffee shops, gyms, restaurants, parks, and more. These pins are managed in the Resi App and powered by Google Places data.

There are two ways to add neighborhood items:

  • Add individual places (recommended for day-to-day updates)
  • Bulk Import (for setting up a property from scratch — see warning below)

Step-by-Step: Add a Single Neighborhood Place

  1. Navigate to your property → Neighborhood.
  2. Click Add Neighborhood Place.
  3. Select a category from the dropdown (e.g., Coffee, Fitness, Dining, Grocery, Park).
  4. Begin typing the name of the place in the search field.

💡 The app uses your property's location to auto-suggest nearby matches from Google. This auto-fills the name, address, and website URL — saving you from manual entry.

  5. Select the correct result from the suggestions.
  6. Confirm the auto-filled details look correct.
  7. Click Create.
  8. Click Clear Website Cache to push the new pin to the live map.

Step-by-Step: Edit an Existing Neighborhood Place

  1. Navigate to your property → Neighborhood.
  2. Find the place in the list and click into it.
  3. Edit the category, name, or other fields as needed.

💡 Google-imported names aren't always ideal. Feel free to clean them up if needed.

  4. Click Save → Clear Website Cache.

Step-by-Step: Remove a Neighborhood Place

  1. Navigate to your property → Neighborhood.
  2. Find the place and open it.
  3. Click Delete (or the remove/trash icon).
  4. Confirm deletion → Clear Website Cache.

⚠️ A Note on Bulk Import

The Bulk Import feature is designed for setting up a brand new property with no existing neighborhood items. It searches Google for places in all your configured categories within a set radius and imports them all at once.

🚫 Do not use Bulk Import if you already have a populated neighborhood list — it may overwrite or duplicate your existing curated content.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using Bulk Import to add a single new category — use Add Neighborhood Place instead unless you specifically intend to import an entire new category for a fresh property.
  • Not cleaning up Google-imported names — these often include branch codes, city names, and other clutter. Take a moment to tidy the name after importing.
  • Forgetting to clear the cache — new pins won't appear on the live map until you do.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

A place I added isn't showing on the map

Did you Clear Website Cache? Wait 60–90 seconds and hard-refresh.

The wrong location auto-filled

Delete it and try again — type more specifically (include city name or address) to narrow the Google suggestions.

A place is showing on the map that I didn't add

It may have been imported during initial Bulk Import setup. Find it in the list and delete it.

I can't find a specific place in the search suggestions

The place may not be in Google's database for that location. Add it manually by entering the name, address, and URL directly.
